i have a 89 rs 305 engine....the fuel guage is peged to full, and doesnt move at all. im thinking its a bad ground ...i just dont know how to go about finding it. i have access to the wires at the fuel pump. can anyone help me..or at least point me to an archieve post with some details? thanks ..........plus the oil guage isnt working. im going to clean the terminal at the sensoe and see if that helps. anyone have any thoughts on that subject?

 

Fuel sending unit might be shorting out or the gauge might just be bad. Does the gauge stay on full with the key off???

You could check the fuel sending unit by measuring the resistance.
Probably just need a new gauge though.

 

yeah it stays at full with key on and off. doesnt move at all. wich wire comming from the tank is for the guage
