Smile help me find an engine

I want to find a 350 fuel injected engine for my 87'
any idea where to find one cheap, i want to obtain 300hp
so if you have any hints or tips on how to achieve this with my 305 corroborated engine, let me know I'm kinda new to the Camaro world, but I know how engines work, I don't want to use boosters (a.k.a nos or venom)
please help a newbie lol

If you can stand to stay carbureted, you can pick up a 350/290 crate engine from GM Performance Parts for... well, somewhere between $2000 and $2500, I dunno. MSRP is $2661, but you can probably get it cheaper thanks to the lovely state of the economy.

Or you can check out some junkyards or trader-type websites like craigslist or kijiji for a used LS1 engine, they ought not to be too expensive.

How much are you looking to spend?

if its an auto then there is a tab on the forward side of the **** that you need to pull out. if its a manual then it twists off. i have yet to encounter one that is a single assembly...granted im not the most expirienced but all the same

when i got my car, the shifter (manual trans) was broken right in the threads. So be careful not to break the shifter, cause believe me, they do break.

In all seriousness check out the info page about it.
http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/En...case/index.jsp

And maybe run it through their dyno program, see what sort of "adjustments" you can make to it.

You will want to do some transmission work as well I think- they didn't offer the original T5 with the 350 because it wasn't able to withstand the power it made. If I'm not mistaken, mind you.

Default shifter ****

funny story, i actually looked at it, had my mechanic, best friend look at it, and realized, "it has to twist off" so we twisted and twisted, until our hands had blisters (not really but we hurt our hands)
and the very next day i was vacuuming and replacing the boot, and it came off really easy, lol lie one half assed twist and pop it was off, so one issue down a few to go lol,
