Default Gear problem

ok, i press the clutch and the car wont go into gear, if i try going to 1st or rev., it grinds, but on the other gears it just wont go in. So i have to start the car on 1st so it can finally go, and 1/2 the time the car will shift to 2nd and on. The clutch pedal feels really weak too. I checked the fluids and their all up. After somehow driving the car. I turn it off and a few hours later turn it back on to go and it goes fine, except the clutch grabs the trans. way to early as i lif tthe clutch causing me to be real slow and carfeull as i drop the clutch so i wont stall out, but shifting to the other gears is fine.

I'd say that your clutch is worn out, maybe check that out, and if the clutch is fine it may be the slave cylinder or release bearing

sounds like the slave cylinder or master cylinder is leaking interanlly ,also the pressure platecould beworn out not allowing the clutch to fully release (release fingers on the plate weak). if that's the case it's time for a clutch/pressure plate /release bearing and possilbly flywheel (if yours can't be resurfaced). get a friend to push the clutch petal while you look at the slave cylinder on the side of the trans. if the cylinder is moving quite a bit (i mean and inch or more) , sounds like you need the clutch kit , if it doesn't move very much (or not at all) you need a master cylinder and slave cylinder (clutch master not brake master).

But really. Check the clutch fluid. dont just look at the resivour because there may be a ....thingy ( i am at a loss for the word!) in it and it will look dark and make you think there is fluid in there. Also look at the slave and make sure its bolted up tight still. And while your there check the bell house bolts.
