Default Front Suspension Noise

I have a 1984 Camaro with 33,000 miles. There is a noise coming from the front drivers side suspension. It can be heard when going over bumps or by the rocking the car. I decided to replace the strut, but the noise still exists. Is it possible for the coil to make a squeaking sound? I tried to remove the coil to replace it already, but it wouldn't come out. I dropped the A-frame to the ground but it stayed in place. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Please let me know if there are other areas to check as well.

Sure about that 33,000 miles on an 84. Could just be the a-arm bushings. spray some silicone lube on them

Doing that appears to have stopped the noise. Thanks for your help.

It is my dad's 84 Z that he has had since 1986. There are actually 33,895 miles on it.

Now that I have the front suspension noise free I noticed something coming from the rear. Again, while driving or rocking the rear of the car there is a squeeking noise. I know this is a wide open question, but any thoughts on what this could be? I tried spraying some silicone on some of the joints, but that didn't help. Thanks a ton!!

considering its age and low mileage, im sure many of the bushings have since become hard. try soaking them all in wd-40 or pb blaster and see what happens. spray it one things one at a time. there are 4 bushings on the rear control arms, 3 on the track bar, 1 or 3 on the torque arm (i cant remember), and two for the sway bar. also, does he grease the ball joints and tie rods in the front?

I think you need either a louder exhaust, or stereo system!

Default LCA Bushings

So I took the car into Belle Tire and was told the rear LCA bushings were bad. I removed the LCA and stupidly tried to remove the bushings myslelf. I removed the rubber and then used my saw to cut into the aluminum outer shell. I went a little too deep and went about 1/16" into the LCA. Now what? Is this a problem or does it need to be replaced? Please let me know ASAP.

Depends on where it's at. If it's in the outer portion where it's only 1/4" thick, I'd say that's a problem.

I've got a set laying around if your interested. They will need the bushings replaced.

replace them, shouldn't be cutting into anything metal on your car and especially not suspension parts. sounds like you really don't deserve a car with that type of mileage. go get a beater and save this car for when you learn more before you destroy it.
