Default strange suspension noise

I am getting a weird noise from my rear suspension. or at least i think it is suspension. Im thinking the bushings for the track bar (panhard rod) are worn. I got under there and i cant wiggle the bar. But at slower speeds, when in in gear, or clutched, or neutral and i turn to the right and hit a slight bump i hear some clanking back there. some parts that have been replaced : Both lower control arms, rear shocks, sway bar end links. the only thing that hasnt been touched is the track bar, which now has 201,500 miles on it....

My 94 has just started the same thing. 190,000 miles. click click click at slow speeds also.
Mine may be differential issues though because I think it goes away with the trans disengaged.
I am going to do some more investigating tonight. I thought maybe exhaust loose as well but right now it feels ok when I wiggle it. No broken hangers that I can see.

Keep posting and maybe we can figure both of ours out.

yeah at slow speeds. i occaison hear it at about 60 mph, if i hit some rough road. but it only appears when im not under power. the purpose of the track bar is the keep the axle square, and if those bushings are bad, it could be wiggling around back there.

My buddy is a Chrysler Tech and we took a drive last night.
When he heard the noise / popping he said it was the universal joints.
They are on the parts counter for me now and will install them this weekend.
Mine seems to act up more as the car gets warm which makes since.
At 190,000 miles they have done there job.
My car is pretty rough compared to some but it has been a fun "driver".

Good luck with your issues. Keep posting and maybe we can figure yours out as well.

i was thinking it was universal joints on the driveshaft also! I have to check that out. the driveshaft was replaced on the car, and it came from a used one that had some miles on it, so now I think it has about the same as yours does.

My clicking noise is still there after replacing the U-joints and adding the limited slip additive to the differential.
Mine might be a little deeper in the differential. We are going to have to open it up to see what is going on.

I will update when I find what it is.

ok. i doubt mine is a differential noise because the rear end was rebuilt at approx. 177,xxx. car now has 202,xxx miles. too soon for a problem right?
