Question Buying a Camaro Soon! ONE QUESTION

Hey guys. I found a 1986 iroc z 5 speed manual I really like. The owner dropped in the 350/290 hp gmpp crate engine in it. Will I run into any problems with this engine on the transmission or rear end? I was reading on motortrend that when they did the corvette engine back in 87 in the iroc, they had to use it only on the auto because the tranny couldnt handle that torque. Any help would be appreciated!

GM didn't put the T5 behind anything bigger than a 305 for that reason, to avoid warranty issues. But you should be ok as long as you don't go beating the crap out of it. I've read about guys using the T5 in their street/strip cars and it held up, but why press your luck. And as far as I'm aware, the rearend is the same unit used for the 305 and 350 option. I'd grab the car if it's a good deal.
