Default All non conv z28s are TTOPs??? and advices please for buying one!

Hi all, I have a question.. all the non convertible z28s are TTOPs??

This is the car I am planning to buy:

Chevrolet Camaro 1996 en Cayambe Ecuador por $8700 :: PATIOTuerca

the seller says it has "Techo corredizo" than means sunroof but camaros dont have it, so I guess is the TTOP. But on the pics the top is all painted.... What do you think about it. I must travel to another city to buy it on saturday and I dont want to waste my time and money..... what should I check on the camaro to do a good first quick check of the car.

Based on the pic it is a t-top car, and are hard top Z28s. Sun roof would have to be a aftermarket add on to a hard top.

If you could manage to get a sun roof in a z28 hardtop is applaud you, that is an incredibly small area to work with

That's a t-top car, you can see the split down the center of the roof. And that isn't a painted top you see, that's glare on the smoked glass panel.

Hi guys, I have another question..... Imust quit from buying that 1996 z28 becausse of a new set of taxes that will cost me 1400 USD each year just for having the z28 ....... Its very sad becausse I always wanted a 4th gen Camaro since I was a child in 1994 and I was them while my parent bought a cheap car. In Ecuador there are just a few quantity of camaros, so having one of them is very hard...... Now the goverment aproved a new tax that will cost me 1400 USD for the Z28 camaro... I earn 1100 USD each month and have to pay 1400 each year for that tax. I guess I wont ever find another TTOP camaro for sale in my country. not in several years and most of them will be thrown to the trash because having them is more expensive that buying them so I guess that camaros will dissapear from my countrie and only garbage small cars willbe allowed...

Anyway, lets stop crying and I want to ask something. I found this another 1993 camaro for sale 1993 with an almost new 3.4L motor, taxes for this 93 are about 250 USD and aI can pay for it, but the car cost 11500 USD!

Chevrolet Camaro 1993 en Azogues con 7,000 Millas precio 11,500 dólares - Autos Usados - Ecuador - Patio de Autos

What do you think about it, the seller said that has a whole new motor and transmission, its manual and has a new clutch too!!!??? my budget is only 9000USD but i guess I could ....

dont put yourself short. in a year or two things may change. or you could just buy it, let it set and wait to licence it,,, if you can do that.

I would not go for that 93. The car looks like it has had some poor paint work which could be hiding poor body work. Keep looking and dont sell short or pay too much for nothing. Car sales people are like wolves, they can smell desporation and they can smell when some one wants a car so bad that they will make bad decisions. If they know you will walk out of the dealership, which means they lose money then they will be the ones working for the sale and not the ones pressuring you for said sale.

If you can try to find a Camaro that is 96+ so you can get the better V6 engine. You will not be dissappointed with the 3.8L engine trust me.

Massey, I've noticed you say "trust me" a lot. Were you once a used car salesman?

Um yea for a little while but I got fired for being "too honest to the point of losing sales"

I say that mainly because for some odd reason people dont want to listen to what I say. Untill they go off and do what ever it was they were thinking and messing something up and then after that they say "oh looks like your way was better, easier, cost less..." what have you...
