84 z28 Horn won't shut up
Recently my boyfriend just bought a 1984 z28 High Output camaro, and when we got it home we realized the horn was not working, I pulled the horn cover off the steering wheel, and discovered there was no cable to make the horn go. Well, when we put it back in, the horn does not stop blaring. I tried to look around via google to see if theres a way to fix this rather than to kill the horn [Killing it being cutting the wires, removing the fuse, or entirely removing the horn] What needs to be replaced, if anything, or what do I need to do to fix it? Thanks!
Wow, you have the limited edition HIGH OUTPUT model? You must be cranking 180 horsepower! 8*p
As far as the horn is concerned.....Id be that your steering wheel switch is at fault...the 'switch' is nothing more than those two circular pieces of metal. When they touch, the horn goes. You may have to bend them apart or see whats broken, but the horn switch (steering wheel horn cover) is whats at fault here. Its apparently stuck closed....

what scott said. the wire in the steering wheel is the ground wire for the relay that sends power to the horn. if that wire touches anything metal, the horn will be on. they can be tempermental sometimes, as mine was. i left my cover off and just touched the wire when needed until i bought a new wheel.
