Default Tremec TKO Noise? HELP!

Hey guys,

I recently put a tremec TKO 500 in my 1970 Camaro, and it now has around 12000 miles on it. and it has developed somewhat of a noise while sitting in neutral. The noise is sort of like a rattle but more muffled and the gears can be heard spinning. but when you push the clutch in it goes away. I am sure the noise is being made while the car is on the highway but there is so much exhaust noise it would be impossible to tell. The motor does have a vibration around 3000 rpm's, this has been there since the motor was new. the transmission shifts smoothly and does not whine terribly loud.

Please help, i really need to figure this out before i do any damage if there is a chance of that.

thanks,
joe

[&:] sounds like a classic example of an input shaft bearing on the trans.
