Default 78 z28 transmission leak

hey all, got a project 78 z28(manual transmission), came with a brand new 355 crate motor and a new trans as well. The trans had never had fluid in it so i tried to put some in today to get the tranny functioning. fluid started pouring out of a hole in the transmission on the passenger side near the engine bay which is depicted in the second picture provided. Is there a plug or line that is supposed to belong there? Thanks! (second pic is for reference as to where i'm talking about)

large hole with the light on it is the leaking point of the transmission

Thank you for the correction, it is indeed an automatic I don't know why I said manual lol, after some research I believe it to be the overdrive cable? Because the dipstick is in the engine bay and there is a small hook type assembly inside the hole where the linkage was coming from , I was able to get ahold of the previous owner who started this project and he said that's indeed what it was. Thoughts?

Yep! Kick down cable, you can see the hole where the bolt goes to hold it in place. Plastic piece on the end of the cable with an o ring on it slides in there, and the bolt secures it. But, your going to have to drop the pan to get the little Z clip into the linkage.
