I wish I was not such a dinosaur when it comes to the new LS engine technology! They have so much potential stock, and are so economical, even in higher HP form. I'd love to use one in my next build if the electronics weren't so intimidating!

I am sure there is enough forum help and companies devoted to LS swap that it would be no sweat. Werent you an electrician

Electronics, sheez. It had a box the plugs into the stock coils. Thats it. Carb and all that. Electric fuel pump is the next most electrical devise. As far aa my car goes work beat me up and I got the motor out that was it. I was planning of finishing the shell. The fire wall needs finish sanded and there is some surface rust on the inside of the roof I have been putting off for shear lack of wanting to look up and sand over my head. I did run plastic across the ceiling in the garage getting ready for winter. It will also double as the roof of my spray booth.

The LS Ram has been autopsied. DOA New forged pitons and a set of Scat rods are coming I believe. I got a pic of the carnage. The cam gear was a tooth off so it seams. Every piston got a little kiss from there exhaust valve. The bores look perfect and will get a ding ball hone.

I acts like we lost compression LOL! All the pistons have that half moon mark.

That's a major mishap! One tooth off on a cam gear can really cause some carnage! I'm surprised it ran long with one tooth off!

No I didn't assemble the engine. LOL the guy who taught me did. Funny huh? He is solid in his ability. Just an stupid mistake messing with a new engine. he hasn't ever had an LS apart either.

So I have wasted a whole year without much progress. I blame work and my Jeep project. So I order to keep my sanity I had to do something. Weather it ever makes its way to the car IDK but I had to fiddle with something.

Here is something. I came across a thread on ThirdGen.org, I go there for info on EFI and the Stealth Ram I bought. Well they were turning a single plain intake into a EFI set up. Hmm, I have a new Victor Jr. that I have tried to sell so many times its not funny. Noby will bite at $75 for a new intake. Anyhow Here is what I have been working on.

I drilled 1" holes straight through the port roof.


Using a mill that can measure the distance between holes helps when I comes time to make the rails.

There it is. I either ruined a completely good intake or saved myself. Who knows but I was bored.


So here are the injector bungs. 1" round stock cut to 1" and center drilled for later when I drill them for injectors.

Not quite finished. I have to weld the bungs in and then machine for injectors. the reason I will wait to final drill is because the guy in the thread I read had issues with the bungs warping when they welded and the injectors are all at odd angles. I am building a piece tonight that will act like a brace to hold everything straight while welding. I also can't TIG aluminum very well. Steel and stainless no problem. So I'm going to farm that out. Anyhow its just another thing I made, I can't work at home at 3:30am so I did this.

Going through them are 1"x1" round stock.

Right on man, the EFI thing along with pretty much everything else is something i know nothing about.

Dont worry about not working on the car, as you know i took a hiatus sp.? from my car and all it has done is made me want to work harder on it so its almost a good thing.

Did you manage to get the car sprayed all one color yet?
