Turned down or surfaced? Are they too large in diameter?

The rotor I cut in to a hub. The OD is to big to fit inside the new rotor. It needs maybe .050" removed to fit. Then the new rotor will slip on freely like it should. I have been told that I can use a 3rd gen rotor and it will not only fit but won't change the width of the hub compared to stock.

Nice I can't wait to see it all set up. On the rear brakes did you have have to use any spacer or anything behind the disc brake backing plate. It was my understanding that in order to center the rotor in the caliper a spacer was needed. but I've never done it so I don't know for sure.

As far as I can tell it sits perfect. Fourth gens came with a 10 bolt so its just a swap. I have heard of S10 swaps needing a spacer come to think of it. FWIW I put my Turbines back on today so I can roll it outside, the brakes fit under a 15" wheel. The fronts IDK. I just got the bracket on one side.

Now I got a question, I don't ask very often. I think I have my door striker too far in and the door latch won't let go of it. Anyone got any ideas how to get the door open? The good news is theres no door panel and now glass to get in the way. The latch mechanism is working but as hard as I can pull, nothing.

Progress looks good, at least nice metal under there. As for the door issue, I remember reading about it in my Camaro Restoration Handbook I think, have someone hold the door handle up, and kick it from inside. I know what you mean watching kids and trying to work on the car, somewhat impossible.

Thanks, starting with a rust free car is weird. It all I could think about when I was blasting. When I did the blue one it didn't have lower 1/4s. I have literally blasted the worst off already. Can't believe it. You can't really tell in the pic but the top is done too. The door isn't. I LOVE my new compressor. Plenty of air to blast. It took 2 50lb bags of sand box sand from Lowes to get this far. With my dads I used almost 10 80lb bags of construction sand just on the sub frame. The sand just wasn't moving as fast. I started after 4 in the afternoon with a 80g DA. That was working but not fast enough. So I got the big gun and immediatly ran out sand. Loaded up the kids and made a bee line for Lowes. So I don't have much time into it.

I want to pull the doors back off and the fenders too. Maybe I can shoot primer next weekend if its warm enough. I kind of didn't plan well for this. I have to pull the seat and wrap the glass. As well as wrap the snot out of my new motor. I may just pull it.

Oh yeah. On the door. I asked on Nasty too. Someone said to pull on the lever with a screwdriver. Someone else said to kick it from the inside too. Well last night the compressor went off and woke me up. So while I was in the garage I grabbed a pry bar and pushed on the tab. Pulled on it good and it popped open.

Looking good Damon! I think I'd pull the motor also, since you're sandblasting. Or at least bag the entire motor in a large garbage bag to protect it from any sand.
