I've posted it everywhere else but here it is again. I broke my F ing windshield because I'm an careless idiot. The upside is I was for sure gonna have it pulled to reseal it. Was kicking around getting a new one too because nothing sets off new paint like new glass. Decision is made now.

 

I had a good windshield in mine, but it had some age too. When I pulled it to do the paint and bodywork I decided I'd have a new one put in also. It's just funky looking to have everything else looking new and have a windhield that looks old.
Probably best to replace it anyway.

 

So on your rear disc setup have you given much thought about the parking brakes? It's a little hard to tell but it looks like you put the calipers ahead of axle. Is that how they came off the 2000 camaro?

I am going to try and pick up a whole setup to do this conversion sometime this week. About how much did you spend on everything for the back brakes?

 

I gave $200 for the rear plus shipping. The fronts were FREE. I answer an add on nasty to get them for shipping only.

The rears have the 2000 backplates. That is how the caliper is oriented. I took the parking brake off until I get that sorted out, but I do have them. On the passenger side the shock hits the caliper. I have a print to make a generic bracket that runs either way.

It will take some work to get the e brake connected, not had though.

 

I don't know if this would work or not But I've read that if you switch the backing plates LH on RH side and RH on the LH that it will clear the staggered shocks.(if I remember right) You pry don't feel like taking your axles out again just to "try it out" lol. and I think that it positions the park brake levers in the right direction as well to have to forward pull setup. once again just what I've read. If I read it right haha. what do ya think?

 

To have no problems you'll need two lefts. The caliper is ahead of the axle on both sides, the LH shock goes behind the axle. The RH ahead of the axle, the problem. PM me your email and I'll send you the pdf file of the brackets.

 

No backing plates on disc brakes. Drums have backing plates.

 

What do you call then then? It bolts to the flange and has a brake shoe for the e brake. I may have mispoke but only because I wasn't thinking.
