Any guess on how much weight it lost? I like the cutting on the brackets behind the bumper. I'f I get some spare time this week I'll be pulling mine off. I can drop them in the band saw at work and it won't take but a second.

I'm going to be pulling it off of the parts car at some point and I'll weigh it.

I can't wait either, thanks for the compliment.

I got my heads back to get cleaned up. The block is in primer, I've got the heads stripped again and they are going to be painted with the block. It is getting sprayed out of a gun, a gunmetal gray color. Going to look sexy. The bowls have had some work done to them just to smooth them out. I may do some more work to the bosses. And I'm going to raise the roof in the exhaust to match the gasket, I'll get pics of everything as I go. I hope to have the lot painted tomorrow, Monday we are picking up new Cam bearings and the block is going to begin assembly, I'm helping, learning and documenting everything. I hope that this next weekend brings the engine home and in the car. There is a shift kit to install as well in the trans. We are going to be using a 4400 stall converter for starters to see how it is. I've got a 2400, and access to a 3600 or thereabouts too. I can't wait.

Finally getting someplace with the engine, been cleaning everything up and recently had it decked. The mains were all gone over, block is in primer, everything is chamfered, cam is installed with new bearings... Today we started to check the clearances on the mains, til the dial indicator dropped on the floor and messed up. Hopefully tomorrow we can get the crank in the block and continue on. Pics.

That looks great! Going to be an awesome engine from the looks of it!
I'd steer clear of doing any work on the bosses on your heads! You wont gain much, and it's a touchy area that gets hurt more often than helped when people start trying to remove structure around them. Easy to mess them up.
I'd stick with mild gasket port matching. It's way more productive, and you'll feel good results in the engine.

Got some porting work done on the Vortecs tonight, hopefull we can get all the porting done on the heads and the intake manifold before the weekend is up, then get the block back and start building this thing. Kicking around a cam change though, the port work figures towards a different cam, I think the flowbench numbers will be impressive too. Can't wait. Here is a sneak peak, one head about 3/4 the way done.

Thanks, he is an artist that is for sure. He knows all the calculations to pre predict what he needs to open things up to to get them to flow right, and he also has a flowbench.
This is the guy I made the website for, seems he was busy as heck coming in to summer, and then the bottom fell out, barely any work now. I'm going to try and get some traffic for him on his site and his facebook page by making some progress threads and posting picture examples of some of the things they do there. He is not really into the whole technology thing, but it would be such a help for him. I think mail order work is even a huge possibility.
