I don't really care if it is noisy, I know that I won't hear it inside, I'm going to dynamat and soundproof with that foam over the top of it before it is said and done.

What pistons are you running in your engine? 515HP on a pump gas freindly 350 would be amazing!

OK, progress tonight. Got the cam bearings pulled out, cleaned out all the stuff from the line bore real good, oiled it up, blew it off and put the cam bearings back in. We then put the caps back on and torqued them down, measured the mains again and found that they bored the block on the loose side, and my crank is on the small side. No big deal I guess, just have to toss some minus 1 bearings in it. Also put the cam bearings in. Tomorrow I am going to go back out and hopefully get the crank and rods and pistons in there. I need to get a different cam that matches the combo better. Anybody need a 60103 Voodoo cam and lifter set, brand new only mocked up.

Got the short block assembled tonight. I'm completely stoked, the pistons are forged, rods are forged, I should be able to put a 150 shot to it if I want to down the road. Gaps in the rings are good, pistons are right at the top of the deck. I'll be able to use a 40 thou gasket now instead of the shim gasket I was going to be using. And I believe it should be about 11.1, we need to CC the heads though first. Hopefully get the heads together tomorrow and put on, I'm going to blast the oil pan and put it on too. This weekend we are going to paint the engine gunmetal gray too. I can't wait.

photobucket is being stubborn, pics tomorrow.

Very nice! I doubt you'll ever need a 150 shot of NOS, and with that kind of CR ratio, I'd be hesitant to give it any shot at all! Usually engines built specifically to run nitrous use lower CR to avoid too much compression when you hit them with the NOS.
The bottom end will be plenty stropng enough, but not sure the pistons wont get a hole burned in them with a static CR of 11:1 and a 150 shot of NOS on top of that.
