The ps is V belt. Look close. Its ribbed on the outside. I've seen that pic before. He says it has a whine like a blower.

It is swanny454's car. I really like it.

I spent some time trying to clean up my pullies today, the are going to need some elbow grease put into them. Probably just shelf them for a bit until I can learn to polish.

You want me to give those pulleys the treatment? I would do it for trade. Not sure what you have I need though.

The cogs are slick huh Val? NO belt slipage.

Actually, if the pulleys were to get the treatment, I want to learn how to do it. Even if it does make my fingers bleed. I was thinking about seeing if I can get some mini buffing wheels and stuff for my die grinder.

Yeah, I love 'em! Wish I had room for them on my Austin, because that's where I'd really like to use a set! But no room, and they say it's for long water pumps too. So either way I'm screwed.

I can guarantee bleeding fingers. For sure I took my thumb knuckle down to the bone on a new 36g belt once. The bad side is there is nothing to sew up so they just stop the bleeding and send you home with a bandage. We call them belt burns and I have a lot. Thats how you learn, lol.

As far as doing it at home. Try this. DA the pulleys with 320g then 600g. Your FIL can help you spot the grit left from the 320 if you aren't sure. Then at lowes they have buffing wheels just like the ones we use just 6" diameter. They'll fit on a bench grinder. They have the right compound too. Brown for getting the grit off, white for the dull finish left by the brown. I would rip the guards off the bench grinder too. This will make it easier. Pulleys are the perfect size for this.

I haven't shown you guys me new air cleaner I don't think. It is spun aluminum and I polished it up so I could shave with it.
