I found some, I will get it tomorrow. I would not have cared what I used if I did not have to do my core support too. I wanted that all to match. Thank god I finally called someplace that first of all knew what it was, and secondly told me exactly where to get it, the number and the address even. The Hot Rod Barn told me they could get it for me for the low price of $66! What a rip, that stuff is about $45 EVERYWHERE! Swap Meets and retail and the Internet. No surprise how The Hot Rod Barn stays open if they are charging their customers 50% markup on everything! :O

I pushed the car outside today and spent some time sandblasting the inside of my fenders and wheel wells. One fender has a few rust holes in it, so I stopped, I'll probably have to replace it, the other one I finished and it doesn't look too bad, and I got one wheel well done sandblasted. I spent probably about 2 hours on it all total. That black beast sand is a bit harsher to work with than the glass beads. I don't really like it too much. But I can't see spending another $35 on a bucket of sand when this stuff costs $8.
My Mother has a friend who has a wrought iron bench that needs sandblasting, I told her that for a bucket of glass beads I would do it. I could probably make a few bucks doing this...
I hope to do a bit more blasting tomorrow. It would be so nice to just be done with all of this.
Fenders, core support, bumper, crossmember, wheel wells, hood hinges, drums, and probably a quick blast on the transmission will do it I think. I'm not sandblasting the inside of the car, cleaning all that out is already going to be horrible. Alot of blowing air and vacuuming at the same time.
Oh, and I helped my father in law get out my motor last night at his place. We pulled the intake and carb off, I see that the heads are anchors, 882's, but the block is an 010 block, still need to finish pulling it apart and take the heads and rotating assembly out of it and ship it to get dipped and magnafluxed and checked out.

Hey Steve, nice job on everything so far. Like the sill plates they look familiar. Curious, what did fed-ex charge for shipping? Por-15 is great stuff but is so expensive. You could do the street side of those inner fenders with about any kind of bedliner in a spray can for about $8 I bought some at Advanced. Two cans should do front and back wells. Just a suggestion.

I did like Pablo63 and sprayed a lot of my undercarriage with bedliner. I know t's not OEm style, but then not much of my car is!

Yeah, I am not out for OEM either. When the car was first given to me I had considered it, but there was just too much missing. IF I ever go that route, I'll be buying a complete unmolested car and restoring what is there. I just don't know if I could stick to it though.

Spent the last couple of days working on parts, mainly the larger ones, fenders, core support, inner fender wells, and my cross member. I have found one fender to have holes in it, not sure if it is fixable or not, for now I am going to try to find another fender, seems easier to just find a solid one than weld on something that can just be bolted on clean. My car also saw the light of day yesterday for the first time since last fall, it only makes me want to finish it more. I cannot believe how light the car is with nothing bolted on to it. The shell probably weighs less than 500 pounds rolling.
This is my method of screening the media for sandblasting. I sweep it into a pile, and use a plaster knife to put it on a screen to sift it into a bucket. I would estimate that the media lasts about 15-20 minutes in the pot.
Here is my bad fender, I haven't gone after the other side of the fender yet, and once I found the holes I quit blasting on the back side. I need to see what my father in law says about it.

Fender well, I still need to get to the other one.
How is this for a crossmember?
My good fender, I'll probably do a bit more blasting on it, at least it is solid.
Here is the glorious mess:

I think that fender with the holes could be salvaged, and I'd sure try to before buying repops! Repops are junk! For $25 ea. you can order the bottom 17" of the front fenders and weld them to your's at the body line. I'd do that before getting new ones.
NPD has them under part #C-302-1RH or C-302-1LH. Page 133.
