This reminds me of a scene from Jaws, everyone comparing scars on the boat. LOL! Makes me want to throw some pics up on here. Sorry again Gaewiel!

It was a nice weekend (at least here it was) did you make any progress on your skid?

This side of the state was in the 60's but the wind was 30mph gusting to 50ish. My dumb butt tried to rake leaves.

I didn't make any progress this weekend. I ended up having to hit Harbor Freight for some needed tools. I have the windshields to remove still and all my redneck engineering ideas didn't pan out. I also have a rust seized bolt on the rear bumper. As well as 2 outside bottoms ones that can only come out with a deep well socket. I didn't get out there until later in the day though so Sat was blown. Then, on Sunday, I helped my father in law take a stove to the dump and go pick up the new one. I really haven't been working her on the weekends at all though. Most times that is when we all have kids stuff going on. So, I'm chaufer. Especially now that it's snowing out. The wife HATES driving in the snow. After so much playing in it though, I love driving in it.

I'm not sure that is primer yellow either actually. You can see some on some of the outer panels where they primer grey that it looks like the outside was factory yellow and the interior was black.

For the color it's going to be final, I had a great idea. I want to paint it overall black. Then, starting at the sunken part of the hood scoop, paint a shade somewhere around candyapple red. Along with around the same shade red on the interior. Put in black trim peices as well. Maybe carbon fiber(or looking) peices for some of the more visible panels. There is also a set of tail lights that might look good.GI: Spyder Auto LED Tail Lights for Dodge Ram 1500 09-11 - DodgeForum.com This is what I want to put on my truck (hence the ram forum link). I was thinking the smoke style ones on the Camaro. Then, use these wheels BigWheels.Net: custom wheels, chrome wheels, alloy wheels, car wheels, truck wheels, aftermarket wheels, large rims, wheel and tire packages, polished wheels but, have the silver portions painted the same color as the stripe. I'll have to see how it looks when I do my mock up models.

Off to eat breakfast and get some work done! The kids are at grandma's house so I want to at least get the bumper off.

The color scheme sounds awesome, along with the wheels. What size are you going with? I know there's a TON of opinions about wheels out there but those look sharp.

I'm not sure what size I want to go yet. 14 is definatly out but, I don't want to go too big either. I'm gonna take some more pics something today. Got the steering shaft apart. Along with the master cylinder. Most of the interior is out as well. All that is left is the dash. Mainly waiting on a steering wheel puller for that. Once I get that and the windsheilds out, I think I'll be ready to lift the body shell. I ended up having to cut the rust seized bolt. Which was a pain in the *** because I couldn't get any type of saw down in there. I had to use a hacksaw blade, off the hacksaw, and cut it by hand.

Looks like someone was into the front suspension at some time, as the red painted parts would indicate those pieces might have been off previously.

The guys it was bought from were working on it to use at the local race track. It's part of the reason a lot of interior was stripped out. I'm probably going to be upgrading some of the suspension components. Like the upper and lower control arms. I'm going with the standpoint that if it's apart I'll upgrade if I can. I'm also not going to trust the components that come anywhere close to critical. Especially when it comes to suspension and brakes.

Unless there's extreme rust, or damage, the upper and lower control arms should be safely reused once they've had new bushings and ball joints installed. The aftermarket control arms are cool, but they're also not cheap either.

I was looking at the suspension parts today again. I was trying to see more on taking it apart. Well, and I was bored and wanted to survey what all I have to take apart.

There is just the surface rust on everything that has rust. No pitting that I can see at all or, any other corrosion. The bushing and everything are completely shot of course.

On a seperate subject. Any tips on getting all of the windshield sealant off? A razorblade is getting some of it but, it won't get all of it.
