Smile Tranny?

i was wondering if anyone can throw some ideas my way for a good 5 speed transmission? my motor is a small block 400 pushing about 425HP and 450 tourqe. Any imput is greatly appreciated. Thank You

you can get a t56 or tko500. i would do tko500 if you can

Depending on your rear gears. Tko500/TKO600. Shorter (higher numaricly) gears will work better with the first gear in the 600. The 500 works with around 3.23-3.42 area. Hurst driveline recommened a 600 for mine w/3.73s. Give them a call they know more than I do.

The stock 5 speeds are known for tearing up behind high torque applications. The T-56 has a torque rating of up to 450 ft/lbs and have been known to handle more in their stock configuration.

I'd look on Craigslist for T56 5 spd. if money is a concern, but if not go with one of the TKO's.
