Well, to answer ur question i just want to do enough to get it to my customs guy whos gonna take care of the paint. I just need to do whatever it takes to prep it for painting to save some cash.

Also i was reading like last months edition of Chevy High Performance Magazine and it said somethign about polyester spotting putty. It says they took a chevelle looks like they used an electric round ( is that orbital?) power sander and sanded it with 240 grit and once it was sanded they filled the low spots with putty and covered ip imperfections then longboard sanded it.... But that seems like alot of work that i would have to be spot on to do and id prefer to do myself or by a professional (without the help from my brothers and the kids down the street... who are in all honesty ricers..)

oh no... if there ricers.. it will never work.... hahahaha jk no iam sur they will do fine if you want it ready for paint paint you will have to take the step of filling in low spots.. becasue the entire car on most any 70's vehicle is all metal from corner to corner they get dents door dings, hail damage, etc. so your best bet is in my opinion start with that long board with 180 grit- if you keep it flat you will be able to tell where every ding is on that car and then you can decide to fill or skip.. just so you know if its barely noticeable after blocking when you paint it it will stand out like a sore thumb! i say block with 180-240 whichever you prefer your final cut should be entire car wetsanded with 400 grit - if your customs guy is going to do some body work to it aswell as what you do then you should just sand it down and dont do any filling because generally people put on too much filler! let the customs guy go to work on the body a little bit if you dont want to try a filler- i would suggest if the dents arent deep at all a metal glaze it can be put on over the top of paints and primers it sands off VERY quickly and tends to stop bubbling that will happen in your common body filler- In my opinion givethe filler a shot you cancreate the PERFECTPaintjob if you do the proper prep work- if all goes to **** sand it off go around the car with a black magic marker and put an X on teh dents you found and tell your Customs guy to either teach you to fix them or fix them for you!
