Griff> I've seen a couple of sites that said the highest PRODUCTION horsepower rating to come off the line for a 400 was 265hp. While the highest Production HP for a 350 off the line was 370. I've also heard that the 400's walls are thinner and more prone to cracking due to the higher displacement. It always seems to be that it's either love them or hate them from the people I talk to. Also, did you get to look at the pics I posted earlier in the thread? I was wondering if you knew what the other numbers were on there.

Yeah dude I wish someone would give me an engine too. That would definately make this project of mine alot easier.

 

I have a 79 as well and just took out the old 350 that is sitting in my garage as we speak. I just put in a old corvette 327 and might be intrested in selling the 350. Let me know what you think.

 

Where are you located? If it doesn't have a 350 swapped in and you are close I am interested.
