Wow that link was all jacked up, sorry. Comps cam program told me I'd be around 590 with my combo, I won't get my hopes up for more than 450ish. Thats was entering my exact head flow data.

The EFI cam probably a wider LSA. EFI cams have a wider LSA to keep the computer happy. That and the intake centerline. Lets say mine is 108* , the new ZR1 w/632 probably has somewhere around 117* and idles like a new Suburban. Smoooooth.

My compression should be 9.8:1 to 10.1:1.
I broke, so I will run it a few times the way it is to get some numbers. Then talk to my dyno guy, but I am thinking I will get
a new cam and roller lifters.

Thanks for all the help.

Yes, these heads should get in the 450 range without any issues.
My machine shop thought these heads were better then the AFR's.

Wow never heard someone sat that, ever. Back in the day when aftermarket aluimnum heads were pretty much limitied to EDDY and TRICK FLOW they were some nice pieces. In the Ford world there still top shelf.

Now I'd be lying if I said I was talking from experiance. But I know a few people who race, imagine that. My dads buddy has the Trick flow 220 head on a 383, he runs a Chevy II. Tunnel ram, yadda yadda, nice w/good parts in it. Anyhow, he has never been in the 10s. Take another buddy of mine he had a 76 Gold Medalist edition Nova. 355 w/ 195cc AFRs, goods parts in his car too. 10.90s all day in a much heavier car. I know am really comparing apples to oranges here. Just an example.

Every article I have ever read was raving about AFR. Chevyhiperformance magazine did a flow comparison and they were on top.

wanna sell the motor you have now when you do build your 383? think im working with 150hp at the rear wheels now lol. lookin to start building up this thing soon. roller cam and lifters, rockers, aluminum heads, aluminum intake, maybe some short tube headers and step up to 3" exhaust though the cat into (2) 2 1/2" tails

I would use the same top end. The bottom end is all stock.
probably the same as yours. I will stick it in a Suburban I have with 300k miles.

That is what I thought. Will have to get the truck on a dyno. The AFR's were stock. I am thinking the trickflow have been re worked. Same machinist did both sets. He does all the racers work. He said I would be very impressed with these heads and I made the right choice putting these on the Camaro.

I am also thinking about racing the truck. It has a full frame and a 12 bolt diff. It can hold more HP then the Camaro. I want to put a procharger on the truck.

I will be using the truck as a back up car if needed.

I agree. The LS engines are great, but I don't like them in classic cars. Not only are they ugly, but also some fitment and accessory issues.

Much easier and better looking to go with the classic powerplants. There are many ways to make compareable HP with classic big and small block engines.

As for LS engines, I like them in late model cars. I had a 2002 SS LS1 spd Camaro and really liked it. It was a well balanced and nice driving car. A relative has an LS7 Z06 Corvette, incredible power but can't get it to the ground without traction control on.
