Default Looking for new manifold suggestions

New to the board, been reading a lot, some great stuff on here.

I just purchased a 1981 Z28. From everything I can tell it's pretty stock. 350 with 350 turbo transmission. The exhaust has been updated: Headers, dual Cat Back exhaust.

I need to put a new carb on it since the current quadrajet is supposed to be hooked into the CCC that is no longer there.

I'm leaning towards a Holly 650 on the carburetor.

While doing the carburetor I'm also going to put an aluminum manifold on.

Leaning towards an Edelbrock with an air-gap intake.

Any suggestions or advice? Will I have any issues with hood clearance with the air-gap intake manifold?

Thanks in advance!

if you are going with the Edelbrock intake why not go with the 600 CFM Carb from Edelbrock too?

lets say you are going to stick to 5600 RPM and have a mild motor but not stock... that calls for a 600 CFM carb...

Carburetor Size Calculator

Here play with the numbers for yourself... I used 5600 RPM... 350 CID... and .86 VE...
it came up with 598 CFM.... Be honest with your self as to the numbers... to much carb will kill your MPG and power...

Some cool things to look at.... Welcome to the Forum... pull up a chair and have a beer....
