Default Key cylinder

My current key cylinder just pulls out I thought it was bad so I bought a new one and its still the same thing. I do not see anywhere in steering column to screw it in there is only the 3 screws holding in the turn signal switch. I have attached some pictures to assist. Please let me know what I need to do to lock in place.

Thank you for any assistance.

turn signal switch removed

with cylinder inserted

You have a empty screw hole just above the 2 prong connector sticking out. There is a special screw that goes in there. That screw has a pin protruding out of the front of it. That pin slips into the U shape slot in the cylinder.

You can look down that screw hole and test fit the cylinder. You should see the cylinder going in and out as you install and remove it.

Thank you, I ordered. Guessing someone replaced something before and lost that screw. it had a normal screw in it holding in the turn signal switch.

I believe that makes contact with the white parts that is for the horn, That is the rotating connection.

Thank you so much for all your help, I have gotten so much fixed from you! trying to honor my Dad by restoring this the best I can. Its almost done, will post pictures soon when completed. Last thing will be paid back to original, that may be another year or so since that's going to be a lot.

I got the replacement screw and then unthreaded part doesn’t even fit into the threads. The package does say 78-88 I believe not sure why it doesn’t fit. Is there a smaller one made for this?
