Hello
I'm no fan of converting to split bumpers unless you did the whole conversion which means header panel, lower valance, split grilles, round turn signals, and poly extension nose. With your's already having the custom lights I think it might look a litle strange.
As for off center bumpers, if you converted it would most likely still make one bumperette off center, as the brackets are what centers them. When I rebuilt my '71 the new brackets were off center also, and the bumper wrapped around almost touching one fender, while the other side was 1/2" away from the fender. It's an easy fix though. I got my die grinder out with rotary file attachment and opened up the bracket mounting holes accordingly. I set the bumper in place with a spacer on each side to center it, then scribed through the mounting holes and pulled the bumper off. Then it was just grinding out the hole to allow the bolts to go in.
You might loosen the mounting bolts first and see how much it shifts. Often it's got enough play to allow it to move without any grinding. If you do grind it, tape some paper all around the bracket to protect the paint from grinding sparks.

That's exactly what the bumper does. Great advise. Thanks. I'll try to center it your way.
That's a perfect example of what I DON'T like Joe! A std. Camaro with all the original lights and grille and simply bolting on a pair of RS bumpers. Just looks silly to my eye.
LOL just kiding. I am amazed at how many changes would actually fit.
Joe.....That is one awesome looking ride. NICE!!!
And I Do like the cowl hoods, but I think your car would look better left as is with full bumper IMHO. In my case the cowl hood is a must, as the big block and Torker wont fit under a stock hood.
Hey Val, i find it looks good but thats about it, never said it was right lol. now if the car was all original i wouldnt change the bumpers but to a clone or mix-breed i would defenetly take the braces off and expose that grill
Let me toy with these ideas a bit.
They swapped the original rear end out completely.
The one that is under there now has disk brakes and a positraction.
To make the parking brake work will take a miracle, decided to go with a hydraulic parking brake just so I can get past inspection.
Just in case...where would one get a different hood. Fiber or any other material is fine..lmao.

Some glass hoods have issues, especially the pin on race hoods. The best glass hoods seem to be Harwood, and go for the hinged glass, not pinned.
Steel or fiberglass are both around $350-$400.
I totally understand Joe. I think the RS looks good too, just getting tired of seeing the faked RS style where all they change is the bumpers. It's amazing how many times I'm at some car event and people are going nuts over what they think is a real RS, and it's simply a bumper change. So I'd say most people would agree with you, not me.
