most cars have a sticker in a glove box or in a console. I dont know about the 2nd gen cars i never looked for mine when i had a couple of them. they may not have started putting the stickers there yet, yo umay have to look for the build sheet. it would be under the back seat. and chances are, its gonna be MIA, but if it is in fact the original seats it MIGHT be under there. that will have the same info as the RPO sticker of later cars, on third gens it was stuck to the underside of the console cover/armrest.

it will look somthing like this
also, you might find this interesting

this site also has a VIN decoder and it tells you frmo the VIN what engine came in the car, in 1980, a base car and a Z/28 shared the same number in the VIN, so I could see why you might think you have a base camaro, when you very well may have an original Z, in 81, it looks like they started denoting a Z/28 speciffically in the VIN. hope this helps!

As do I. I have done some serious uphauling so far, such as:
Change brake pads, New front end parts to install (idler arm, pivot arm, sway bar, ball joints) the whole 10 yards, Solid Tune Up, Trans Rebuild (yet to finish)
I had wired an aftermarket radio to the fuse box and it worked fine, but the next morning I discovered that my radio would not come on, nor my subs or amp(which lights up blue when on) any Ideas on what it could be? I wont be able to mess with it anytime soon, because my starter and battery has been disconnected from the uninstall of the trans. As soon as the trans is done, I will try again, just not sure what I did wrong
