Default Emissions Parts

Trying to get moms 1979 Camaro registered into my name after her passing. California SMOG test is killing me. Looking for AC Delco EGR valve and a Thermal Vacuum switch for the emissions system.
Any suggestions??
Thanks

Nothing there. I'll call Camaro Central Tuesday.

Purchased a new EGR from a small Mom & Pop Parts store I've been using for 40 years. The STANDARD part for my 1979 Camaro RS (5.0 L, 305 V-8) came with a completely different mounting base. I've found plenty on of EGR's on EBay with the correct mounting base, but the PN's don't match what I took off...When I hunt by vehicle type, I always get the wrong mount for the EGR...Checked the VIN again. It's deffinately a 5.0L 305 V-8. I called my local Chevy dealer and though the GM EGR was discontinued, he gave me a GM part number, but it too has the incorrect mounting base. So I'm a bit confused..

The EGR from the engine is actually a ROCHESTER Product PN 17057407
Any other ideas??

Default Emissions AAHAA moment

I think I figured it out !! It appears there are two EGR Valves available for the 1979 Camaro with a 5.0L/305ci. One is California Emissions Compliant and the other is Federal Emissions Compliant. Mine happens to be a Federal Emissions Compliant vehicle. Not sure why that would be. According to the VIN,the vehicle came out of the VAN NUYS plant in California....

I'll check with me SMOG Tech to be sure.....

But I think my problem is solved.....WOOHOO!!

Does that make sense??

Sorry about your mom
Wonderful about getting the car and getting closer to I/M compliance
Just got my 04 F150 thru I/M, it was a long process for big money
Good luck

Guess who's 1979 Camaro just passed CA SMOG. It took several weeks, several OEM parts searched for on Ebay, a local old school parts store (Ed's Auto Parts in Covina, CA), and a small, dedicated & determined SMOG & Repair Station owner in the Glendora/Covina CA. He finished tonight at 7:00pm and was more excited than me, I think.....Thanks for the help..

Now maybe a little carburater final tune and we should be smooth as silk.....

Awesome!

If memory serves many were built there but not all destined for California dealers
