Default re-building an engine

almost two years ago now i twisted the crank in my 68's 350 engine. we finally got it all torn apart and a new crank put back in it and are working to get it running again. the problem is the crank shaft that came out of it was from a 327 motor. naturally we put the 350 crank back in it. can anyone tell me what kind of performance changes to expect? any help would be great! thanks

If you had a 327 crank in that engine, you had a 327 engine, not a 350. 327 and 350 has the same 4" bore size. 327 stroke is 3.25" and the 350 is 3.5". If you slap a 350 crank (with .25" more travel than the old crank) to the rest of the existing rotating assembly, the greatest change you're going to experience is the pistons coming to a dead stop as they crash into the heads. To make what you have work, you'll need shorter rods.
