Hum...

What is the top speed of each engine and how many seconds do they take to get to 60? And if it is possible to say what is the difference in the price of a car if I could find one in similar conditions but with all this different engines.

Z28 302ci/290HP V8 4BC - Z-28 only (HP underrated!)
L14 307ci/200HP V8 2BC - non-SS, 1969 only
LF7 327ci/210HP V8 2BC - non-SS, eliminated during 1969
L30 327ci/275HP V8 4BC - non-SS, 1967-68 only
L65 350ci/250HP V8 2BC - non-SS, 1969 only
LM1 350ci/255HP V8 4BC - non-SS, regular fuel, 1969 only
L48 350ci/295HP V8 4BC - SS only, rated 300HP in 1969
L35 396ci/325HP V8 4BC - SS only, Q-Jet
L34 396ci/350HP V8 4BC - SS only, Q-Jet
L78 396ci/375HP V8 4BC - SS only, Holley
L78/L89 396ci/375HP V8 4BC - SS only, Holley, Al head
Everything is going to vary on Top speed and 0-60. Giving you numbers could also prove false since not knowing what rear end package, trans package, and the overall health of the motor are determining factors. A car with a 4:10 rear ratio will have excellent 0-60 times, but pathetic top speed. A 2:23 rear ratio(just throwing numbers for example) would have awefull 0-60 but pontentially great top speed, if the motor doesn't hit it's peak first.

Posting all the possibilities would be endless. The best thing to do would be to try and find archived articles on the models new and hope they have some "rough" estimitates for you. If I see something I'll post it for you.

Top speed isn't something that was shot for in the 60's. It was about the 1/4 mile times. These cars aren't what I'd call stable at high speeds, with factory setups that you mention you'd like to have a 69 at top end is a dead racoon away from a roll over.

But can you give an ideia? Because I don't have a clue! Not at all!

Will it take more than 5sec to go to 60? Will it's top speed be over 120? Just for me to have some basic ideia...!

And about the prices, can't you give me an ideia? What would be the difference between a Camaro with a L48 engine and one with a L78/L89? Knowing off course that both cars would be in the same conditions and all that stuff. Just the engine would be different!

0-60....some where in the 4-7 second range, 4 being the big motors geared right, 7, the small motors geared poorly.

Top end, somewhere in the 120 to 150 range depending. on rear ratio and engine.

Prices....That varies by market and times. Right now prices are high on everything that is factory original. Want a original big block car, depending on the quality and it's VIN you could be anywhere from 20,000 US to 100,000 US.

Anything COPO, Yenko, Nickey Chevy or the other rare cars the market is very wild. Any number is to be expected. Nothing surprises me on price for them now.

Ebay some 69's and see what they are going for it will give you a good indicator.

Add in shipping from the US also. Plus registering and tax....

Nice!

Thank you!

I don't have the money available for now to buy the car and probably I won't for at least one more year, so with some luck when I decide to buy it prices will be a little bit lower...

But I link to learn all I can as soon as possible!
