Hi all. Want to ask the experts about these letters that are stenciled on the fire wall. Is this something the factory or dealer would do? The wife is the original owner and she does not know any thing about it. There was some repainting done in the early 70's maybe the painters mark. I can find out his name with a phone call. In the meantime I was just curious. Thank you. Mike
Thank you for your response. I made a call to see if it was the painters initials. It is not his initials. Has anyone ever seen markings like this before? Thanks again. Mike
There are many pics on the net. Try searching "PBT Fire wall stamps 69 Camaro". I believe it was only Norwood factory. There were 3 inspectors that were to inspect different things. The letters probably are more a connection to the work instruction they inspected to rather than the inspector himself. With nearly 250,000 camaros sold in 69 the guys did have to rush. Some cars are barely readable because the inspectors did not refresh the stamp with every car. To add to the confusion some dealers cleaned the letters off because they were unsightly and halfway there.
