PCV Valve on a 383 Stroker
I replaced the engine on my 67 with a 383 stroker. I am running double breathers on the valve covers. I have been running it for a couple of months and probably 100-ish miles since the engine swap with no problems.
Yesterday, I noticed white steam/smoke coming from the breathers. I have never seen this before. The only thing I can really correlate this to, is recent rain and heavy condensation on the car in the morning (its parked outside).
I checked the oil for milkiness and the radiator for bubbles. They seem OK. I was going to do a compression test this weekend.
Has anyone else seen this before? If its condensation how long does it take to burn off? I ran the car 20 minutes (7 miles) twice.
Would install a PCV valve fix this issue?
Here is a video of the smoke and the dipstick.

Moisture in the crankcase cooking off is what you're seeing.
You definitely want to install a PCV valve in one of the valve covers. That helps draw vapors and moisture out of the crankcase, and fresh air is then drawn into the other side through the breather.
Compare it to having two windows open in a room on opposite walls. Now put a fan in one of the windows, blowing out. The other window will draw in fresh air, and you have better ventilation flowing through the room.

I got into a pissing match on another forum about this and was told my engine builder was stupid in so many words.
I have close to 9000 miles on mine with no problem
