New to Camaro need vin help
Also, without seeing the back end, it could be "right year but wrong rear"!
There are plenty of Camaro's that started life as a Firebird. If that doesn't bother you and the car is in good shape, then buy it and enjoy it.
But if the car needs any real work, then I would pass on it because the car's value will always be severely limited. You'd just be throwing money away.

My brother has a 67 Firebird made into a Camaro. He bought it from a guy who put a built 400 SBC. He got it out in the spring before he had insurance on it to show his buddies. After a few beers his buddies talked him into taking them for a ride. Got showing off and smashed it in the drivers front corner, hit so hard it pushed in the firewall and A pillar a few inches and buckled the quarter panel. My brother bought it for $1,500 for the motor as that was fine. He is going to put into his 69 Camaro convertible he is slowly restoring (works 11-12 hours a day). I almost had him talked into selling it to me a few years ago but he decided he would restore it also. I am assuming since there were alot more Camaro's around it was easier to get replacement Camaro parts from a junkyard instead of Firebird parts? Or is it more desirable to have a Camaro so they converted them? Personally I like the looks of the firebird front ends. But a first gen RS front, now that's what I'm talk'in bout.
