Default Installed new edelbrock 1406 need help with kickdown

Hi, I recently been in the process of switching over to a edelbrock 1406 on a 68 327. I’m almost done with the installation but am running into issues now with the kickdown for a th350. I bought the extension bracket part# 8012 along with part# 8018(edelbrock kickdown stud). I put the extension on and pulled the cable to put it on and the cable bends on a angle towards the front of the bracket. Can I reverse the stud and put it facing towards the carb?

Thank you guys. I went ahead and reversed it. Definitely a lot better then having it go to the front. It’s hard to find pictures of anyone using a extension for the kickdown.

I did not need that additional bracket on my 1406 with TH350. I also have the bracket attached to DS, rear, of intake manifold for the TH350 kick down cable. Trans works perfectly and I also have vac modulator open full on trans

do you have a edelbrock 1721 intake? Or is it different? I popped the tab up on the kickdown and tried pulling it out and it just about reached the carb but that wasn’t having the carb at full throttle.

No I have the 7501 "air gap" intake but also had the same set up on the edelbrock performer intake on my 327. I have a 357 now
