kick down cable question

Default kick down cable question

ok so i just got the car and kick down is totaly missing, can get the new one for $16 but nobody knows what the screw it, so does anyone know what size thatscrew is, i called my local dealer and they didnt even know

have you tried to adjust it??? tv cabels have an adjustment. theres a small peice that comes up. you pull the carb linkage to wide open throttel and than push the peice back down. and it adjust it self. changing the tv cabel is a pain in the ***...try the adjustment.

it will be tough putting one in while the tranny is in the car,unless you have a mirror and that might not help.you have to be able to see in the hole to hook it up.the end of the cable has two 90's in it .you put the end of the cable in the little arm that is sticking up inside the hole and you fish the first 90 through the hole and thats it.i dont have a clue what size the screw itis that holds it in there.there is a bracket that holds your throttle cable and your kick down cable and this bracket is usaully mounted to the left rear carb. bolt.in that bracket is a black plastic lock.you pry the lock up and pull the throttle wide open,push the lock back in and release the throttle,its adjusted
