Default Holley 600 electric choke wiring

Hi , I had been having all sorts of problems with my carb. I had a 750 and it delivered too much gas so I went to the Holley demon 600 . It was cranking but something wasn’t right. I installed the carb myself . ..I forgot to wire the electric choke in. I know the ground is already grounded to the base of the carb ....the hot wire needs to be wired in where it gets 12volts when the ignition is turned on . I had some guys work on it and they tied into the wipers so the wipers were on all the time for the choke to get power.

any suggestions of a good spot with a wire to tie it into that is hot only when ignition is turned? Should I just get someone to crank the car while I hold a multimeter checink volts...

Any help is appreciated .

thanks and god bless

I have "heard" wiper power is on when IGN is on....but I don't like "taping" into existing wires feeding other functions.

I run a wire from IGN terminal from fuse block under dash to my El choke

Ensure choke plate is set correctly. When engine is cold, step on pedal and plate should close shut. If not, adjust using choke cap.
Now start engine and rotate plate open with choke cap until engine smooths out at high idle. this precedure may take more than one day for adjustment.

Thanks the ignition spot on the fuse block sounds like the best choice .

Thanks for the tips on getting it set correctly. The carb has been an issue on this car since I’ve had it.
