I have a X22 1969 Camaro. Car has front disk brakes looked to be original Heater core fittings close together by block. No air-conditioning. TH 400 with vin number. 12 bolt rear. Black vinyl top. Olympic gold. Has rear defogger. RS package. Been parked since 1985. Found in a little town called Brawley, California. Go backyard buried the wheels in the ground. Thoughts. Engine is bad has a 402. Engine is not original. car was originally sold in 1970. Went back for six years guy Finally sold it to me. Good price 9k. According to the transmission, it was hooked up to 350 hp. I think it is a L35. Help
It sounds like you are describing a small block heater core. The big block heater core hoses come through the heater core cover by the fender all the rest come through the fire wall right above the valve covers.

My understanding is the two hose fittings are close to the valve cover on the right hand side and they are very close together I will take a picture. The TH 400 has the vin on it matching the van in the car The tag on the transmission shows it was attached to a 350HP engine. 12 bolt is a match. And it is a X22. Sold new in 1970. Send picture soon. I agree with Gorn,small block car the heater cores are different so here's a couple pics to show the difference.
Big Block: See how the heater hoses are out towards the fender.
Small Block: See how the hoses are behind the valve cover,with a big block swap in a small block car you will need the BB core as the head will be in the way and you can't hook the hoses up.
The 69"E" indicates a L34 325hp engine. The L35 would have had a "C" and the big boys all had an "X". these tags told the mechanic what parts to order. Without them they had to tear down the engine and could clutches. I only bring that up because most markings are for manufacturing only and could be wrong if something did not go as planned.
I think that is a big block heater core. I have only installed small block heater cores but I do not remember on them a tube being straight. Your heater core cover should have 2 holes in it.
All this stuff can be faked but if the car has been sitting since 85 you safe. These cars where cloned back then but it was a lot cheaper to buy a correct car then to do a detailed fake in 1985. I hope you are taking pictures of everything. It will never be a big dollar car but an original big block car always increases value. Proving the car was untouched since 1985 is key in proving it was not a fake.
FYI its up to you but finding a correct casting 396 and making it a numbers matching car is not hard. I have known guys that have given 9k range for a completely rusted out shells just to get the title and vin of a car that "could be" a big block.

I The vin on the TH 400 matches the car. Big block original mounts had a 402 in it but not a matching motor I built a 396 engine With the proper number block. The last picture is where I’m at with it now. It is also a RS. The rear end matches the car also I think your right L34. They only made 2??? L 34 that year. Hope this helps. Send
