You're welcome Scooch. The more I thought about the steering column after I showed it to you, the more I thought how nifty it would be to have tilt wheel in mine.

Better still would be a tilt/telescopic column like what's in my 69 Vette. You could lay the wheel in your lap if you wanted to.
Hmmmm, I'll hafta do some research and see if it would be an easy swap. Bet it just might.
The column you got has the button in the turn signal stalk for cruise control. I don't spose your car has cruise.........yet?

hey, next question... Ive obviously got to rewire the car. I hear alot of good things about American Auto Wire. I also hear that Painless kits are NOT exactly painless. you guys have any experience with either? I almost bought AAW when I got the car but never pulled the trigger. another good thing I hear about the AAW is that I dont have to rewire the rear of the car and no splicing involved because I can plug right into the rear factory wiring harness.

 

I've never used one of those, I usually restore/rewrap my own harnesses. Or in the case of my current 69, customized and tore a lot of stuff out.
Yours I take it is a goner. 71BB427 has used one of those wire companies for his car, ask him how he liked it.

 

ok, Lets talk Radiators. and for the record Im running the original 350. no A/C at this time but there will be A/C eventually. with that in mind....

2 row vs. 3 row?

going with electric fans so... Dual or single?

if dual... 2 - 10" or 2 - 12"

and shroud or no shroud. stupid question because I think Shroud. but I see alot of radiators set up with electric fans and no shroud at all. The ones Im looking at have custom aluminum shrouds built in.

and I hear some radiators have small tubes that get clogged pretty easy. some radiators I look at dont list the size of their tubes. and some say 1" which I dont know much about radiators but that sounds pretty big.

and lastly... the Radiator that was in the car was 28 1/2" wide at the widest point which was the outside edge of the mounting tabs. alot of the radiators Im looking at are 30 1/2" wide.... both 2 row and 3 row. I looked at the core support and I assume it will work but I will have to drill new mounting holes in the core support.

advice, useful knowledge, what are you running?

 

The basic rule of thumb is for every HP you have to the wheels you need to deal with one HP of heat at the radiator. More HP more Heat. The stock V8 (2 core I think) is fine up to 300 HP. If your adding AC you want the Dual fans. Shrouding is always to good thing.

 

Dont know if you guys remember Blade or not but I couldnt get this image outta my head. I kept thinking of this picture and went back and found it. This picture makes me happy because I had no idea I could pull the whole front end off in one piece, inner fenders and all. I will be puttin mine back together that way when the time comes.

 

I remember following his build thread years ago. I also wondered what happened to him.FYI chances are you going to have to "tweeK" those fender position after any real body work. Getting it backed on and aligned will not be as easy as removel. This is why one one PC front ends are so popular on camaros also the Flip UP front end mod that was so common in the 70's and 80's.
