I would 80 to 100 just to be sure. As long as it's got a voltage reg. it won't hurt anything.

I put a 100 amp on mine. Not that I really needed all of it, but it didn't cost much more than a 63 amp did. What you calculated is what your current draw could be, at an average rate to break even with the battery. Have everything cranked to the max, and you'll be using more amps than that. I like to go by the better safe than sorry method. Plus a 100 amp alternator still isn't too much to overtax your stock size (gauge) wires.

Also keep in mind that amperage output goes up with the rpm's. At idle, there isn't such a huge difference between the higher and lower output alternators. If you have everything cranking high while idling, your charging level could still be closer to the battery level, so don't sweat it if that's what you see on the dash gauge.

I think I may have seen that in the past. But I have rebuilt a few of those Delco Reemers before!
I took pics of the last one I did, daughters Jeep uses the same alternator.
Is yours bad, or you just want a "new" one?

it was chrome and the heat stripped half of it and the rest of it is charred. it look like its been to hell and back.... literally.
