Default Enherited '67 Camaro SS

I don't have much history around this car. My dad purchased it around 2007-2009 (I believe). It was in great working shape when he got it, but he does love working on cars. He ended up doing a lot of changes to it. The car was red with white stripes, which I absolutely loved. He ended up painting it gloss black. He also swapped the automatic transmission with a 4 speed Munci. Unfortunately, due to health problems, he couldn't completely finish the car and it sat in his garage for the past decade. He passed away last September. I had two options. Sell the car or keep it. I was originally going to get rid of it, but decided to keep it. Overall, its in great shape, especially the body, but it really needed some work inside -- the engine and interior.

Since getting the car a few months ago, I've done a ton of work to get it to the point where its drive-able. I did the typical maintenance stuff replacing all the fluids. I tore out all of the wires and replaced them with the Painless wiring harness. I replaced all of the hoses, including the radiator. I fixed up the interior, which looked awful. The shifter looks much better and got new carpeting. I want to replace the Holley carburetor with an EFI sniper here in a few. I also cleaned up the engine and engine bay. It looked really bad before with wires and hoses going everywhere.

There's an engraving on the lower left corner of the rear window that was probably put there by a previous owner. My dad had a sticker there to cover it. I removed the sticker and will have the engraving in full view and own it. The thing about these cars is that they have a ton of history around them and the engraving is part of it. I just wish I knew the story around it.

It's supposed to have wires and hoses going everywhere
God forbid some moron setting off a nuke around here and no fuel injected car is going anywhere
Keep one with points around is my suggestion
I'd keep your dads pride and joy just as he left it

Well if there's an issue with the end of the world, my '74 Square Body will be the go to. 😂

This was my 1 set of wheels/car. Same but the RS. $3600 hundred bucks. 1978 Got it from a Neighborhood lady that owned a used car lot. I would give up body parts of mine to still own it today. $3600 bucks w/new paint & vinyl top only 44K miles , that was a small fortune back then. But if I found one like it I might pay as much 20x as much.

Nice story OP. Stay with a carburetor, tuned correctly they run very well. Your timing needs to be sorted before doing carb final adjustments. Use vacuum advance distributor. Putting in a Pertronix module instead of points is what I have always done on points dizzy
