Default alternator issue ?

I have a 67 coupe 327 and my alternator stays very warm to the touch even when sitting overnight and not running, I have to charge the new battery everyday and goes dead over night, should the alternator stay that warm, never had that happen before, thanks for any help

Not normal. It sounds like there is a short in the alternator. It could cause a fire if it gets worse. The main alternator wire has no fuse. Replace the alternator.

does it have an external voltage regulator? sounds like the regulator is not happy and sticking ingauged, if its a newer alternator with internal regulator then ^^^ replace.
