Default An alternator issue?

So, I have an 1988 Iroc Z28 V8 5.0. All of the sudden it dosnt want to stay running. I will start it just fine, but then it cuts off. The last two weeks it hasn't acted up, but now the last two days its starts and then with no sign shuts off. I was thinking it is the alternator since I bought a brand new battery. When I hit the breaks or roll down the power windows, turn the music on or turn the lights on, the battery meter drops significantly.... does this sound like a simple alternator problem, or could it be bigger?

Your alternator is going south on you. It is not charging all the time and you ar running on the juice of the new battery. Take the time now or you will be waiting besides the road waith for a tow.
