Default alternator

Hey guys I think my alternator is going bad it is making some whistiling noise and the belt is tight so I am going to replace it ITs a 2002 V6 Camaro. Is there any threads that help with how to do an alternator change? I guess i could pick up one of those books but i thought i would ask. It really does not seem like it would be too hard to do.

Pretty straight forward. Remove belt, disconnect wires, unbolt alternator.

Now THAT one needs to be stickied. I did write it down for future reference, but I'll probably lose the note!

You can remove one of the battery cables with the engine running and if the alt charging is bad, the engine will die. If it is a bearing going on the alt, it will continue to make the noise. Also, I have seen some alt's make that noise if someone is running alot of electronics and draining the battery.
