Default 68 fuel filter

On the 67-8 sbc cars with the shorter water pumps and the Alternators hanging off the the right side of the motor. With the fuel line running up from the pump on the left side of the motor? And on the 69 cars with the longer water pumps and Alternators on left side of motor. The fuel lines ran up behind the water pump more in the center of the motor.

Did the cars come factory with an in-line fuel filter? If so where where they located?

I don't think they did. I put one on my 68 right before the pump way down low out of sight.

True, no external filters. Filter is installed in the carb inlet, use a 1 inch wrench after removing the fuel line.
Spring first, then either a paper filter with hole towards the fuel line or the bronze porous filter, the the fitting, don't for get the new sealing washer. Snug the fitting, no gorilla torque as it always stripped the threads in the carb body.
