Old Starter with 3 pins on solenoid
New starter with 4 pins on solenoid
Hi guys from Down Under Ozz need HELP!!
my 67 Camaro had starter motor problems {solenoid} so i went out and bought a new one ,fitted the new starter but same problem will not crank over battery is ok next set i pulled cluster dash out and pulled out the ignition switch out i have moved the transmission shifter from P to N thinking the saftey neutral switch is ok had it replaced 2 years ago any help cheers.
If replacement starter is bottom picture, battery cable to top stud.
Purple wire (START) to smaller terminal for engaging solenoid.
Yellow wire, IGN power during start, to opposite smaller terminal.
Ensure starter is paint free on both starter chassis and block for ground return path to battery.
Use a remote starter button to troubleshoot

With ohmmeter, measure small terminals, the one with resistance to ground, starter case, is solenoid AND wire from Camaro having power when in START position, would go to this terminal.
Yellow wire, by design, would go to coil + terminal for ign power during start command, and yellow wire would go to the other small terminal, measuring infinity(open) with ohmmeter.

Thank you will give it a go
