Default Click, click?! WTF

I had a starting problem to where my starter would just click when the ignition was switched on. So I figured starter was going out. Got a new starter and "click, click" again!! Battery has a full charge and all the connections are solid. Any ideas as to what it might be? I'm lost. Any help appreciated.

did u test the starter? very rare but could have gotten a bad one. other than that i would look at the ignition switch and any fuses for bad con. test the voltage to the solonoid while starter ingadged. im assuming u changed the solonoid with the starter and the motor turns over.

Considering the old starter did the exact same thing is a good indication, to me anyway, that it's something else and not the starter. I haven't ran a volt meter to the starter wires yet so I do not know if it's not getting the current required. The starter and solenoid come as a single unit so they are both new. Which ignition switch are you refering to? The one on the collum or the one under the dash? Usually when you lose the ignition under the dash you lose power to all your guages and lights and your ignition does nothng at all. No click or anything. No the motor does not turn over at all. All I get is the click sound and that's it.

Check your ground wires/cables, especially the block to frame one. Current won't flow if it has nowhere to go.
Sorry bout the rhyme!

sorry ment the motor is not froze. u probly know more than i do so im just trying to help. its hard but im trying. i guess if its clicking theres some juice getting to the starter so its working up to a point. that makes it really tough. u could run a hot jumper to the solonoid wire to see if that ingadges it. if it does then its in the ignition somewhere. what about the park switch. the one that wont let it start till its in park.

^^ that wouldn't even give him the click. hopefully the engine isn't locked up. check your battery terminals and make sure they're both tight. My old one had a problem with that.

No the motor is not froze. I turned it myself just last night when I installed my harmonic balancer. Only has 30k on the motor. All battery cables are good and properly connected. I'm pretty certain Camaro 69 may have hit the nail on the head. I've only been getting 3 hours of sleep a night so I'm not funtioning at %100 percent. I did think of that also then I opened up this thread again and sure enough someone mentioned it. Thanks Camaro 69. Sometimes even us old dogs need a reminder.

Mr craby you're doing fine. Park switch was great advice. Keep up the good work.
