Wtf is that noise.. you hear it when your stopped after a while and the window is open... (engine running)

is it the clutch?

 

metal will make a clicking noise as it cools... if the motor is still running but you have been stopped after some driving the exhaust system will cool, but i would think it would stay hot enought not to do that..........

 

A bit vague there. I assume it's coming from the front, since you're questioning the clutch. Have you gotten out of the car to get a better feel for where the noise is coming from exactly?

 

click click boom!!! haha good song by saliva, but yeah back to topic, it could be a number of things, describe it more, is it like a steady click sound does it sound like its coming from the motor trans brakes or what??

 

Could it be either the headers cooling off a bit or even the fans turning on to cool the motor?

 

i get that when my fan is on and my car is running but at a stop. I think its the fan turning on and off no?

 

hm it could be it came from the general area between the clutch fluid resevoir down and to the side where the engien is, in that open space...the only open space in a camaro front end.. and yeah its steady like click...[5 secs]click....[5secs] steady. and not like super loud.

Air conditioner or defrost on? Could be the A/C clutch engaging/disengaging...

 

That is also what I am thinking.

 

Push the clutch in and out. If the noise goes away when the clutch is pushed in it could be your throwout bearing is starting to go...
