Default Red flashing LED on top of dash?

When I first got my LT I found a flashing red LED light on the top center of the dash. In a nickel sized dome next to the windshield.

Late at night with the car parked, I looked out my apartment window and saw it flashing red. I thought it was a warning to would be theives.

It no longer does this.

I, now wonder if it was telling me that I forgot to lock it.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

There is a red neon alien living in your car. Call an exterminator.

I checked the owners manual for the 2010 model year Camaro and found that there is a light in the instrument panel which looks to me much how you described. This light is in fact for the security system and the alarm automatically arms after right around 30 seconds. The light on the instrument panel will flash. If your light doesn't not come on at all anymore then I would suggest speaking with a dealership about getting your vehicle checked to make sure nothing is wrong with the security system in the vehicle. All the information I found in your owners manual is from section one starting on page ten. I hope this helps answer your question.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the help.

I found the same info in the owners manual, yesterday.

I investigated the issue and found my system is fine.

Apparently I was in error when I thought I had seen it from my window.

I have been unlocking the doors from 20 feet away, disabling the system before getting to the car. Therefore I didn't see the light flashing.

Thanks again. Everything is AOK.
