350 engine question
#11
You say TH350 Transmission, is it modified? The TH350 in stock trim or with a shift kit is rated for 350 horsepower and if your motor goes much over you maybe investing in a new one fairly quickly. 2800 Stahl converter means your expecting to keep the motor pretty well wound up. I am not sure of the drivability you will have in the end. If its for the track or racing you might want to go up to a TH400 since the 400 is for 400 horsepower motors.. Just a suggestion if its an option...

I meant to say it is rated to 350 torque foot pounds. and the 400 is 400 foot pounds.. But torque and horsepower derive from the engine and there is a direct correlation between horsepower and torque.. You can build up a 350 some places do but the 400 is usually the better base choice. I am just observing and looking for your best interest. I got that information from Chevrolet... I don't know if you are trying to hit a HP Number or if the guy building it for you has stated a number but you can also get a dyno sheet that would help take the guess work out of it for you..
