LT1 headlights
So I read an old post in here saying how u can take out the old bulbs and replace them with a newer high performance bulbs but you have to silicone them back in... Has anyone else tried this? Any other way to put better headlights into an LT1 body camaro?
Well you can get Xenon charged bulbs and they'll fit with no problem. Or are you talking about a conversion kit? I wouldn't go too far with the silicone just enough to seal it if needed. B.T.W. if you couldn't tell, I haven't done it myself.
Right now they are in pretty good alignment. I just think that they are faded, my highs still work well its just the low beams.
This might be a dumb question but i just want to make sure... the only headlights that are sold to fit an LT1 bodystyle are the OEM ones right? Or are there complete housings that are sold with higher performance bulbs in them?

Some people removed the halogen bulb inside the seales beam and repalced with a stronger bulb, like an H4. Used silicone sealer to patch up the sealed beam. The problem I see with that is that the new bulb has to be precisely set into the sealed beam in order toget proper focous. You may want to put new sealed beams in, they do get dim with age.
So today i took out the housings and took out the sealed bulbs... i put silverstar new bulbs in there and they fit 1000 times better than i thought they would... i siliconed them in with high temperature silicone. (The original ones are actually held in with silicone). There drying right now and hopefully ill put them back in later tonight... ill let u know how it all works out....
Thanks for the help
