Well that didn’t take long.. The car is down again. But don’t worry, it’s not because of the engine. The engine is still running flawlessly. The rear end however was not happy with the extra power.
The rear end that broke was the factory 3.42 10 bolt. The 8.8 isn’t done yet. So a buddy of mine is selling me a 10 bolt from an LS1 car that has 3.73 gears to get me by until my 8.8 is ready.
measure the rearend from rim mount to rim mount. i have found that my 2000 has a bigger offset on the wheels than my 93. tried some old wheels and tires off the 93 on the 2000 and they stuck out past the fender on the front, didnt try the back...
What was that 2 weeks? Just because you have 400+ hp does not mean you need to use 400+ hp all the time. Gas pedal is not just an on/off switch you know.
Ohh come on Gorn. It’s all fun and games til the 10
bolt pukes, right? The rear end was actually making a little noise before the engine rebuild
On another note, I got a different rear end installed. It’s not a 3.73 rear end like the guy claimed. Ended up being 3.23s. But I had to use it to get me back on the road. More motivation to finish my 8.8 trac lok 4.10 rear end
